What to do if you have a situation with a difficult student:

• Use your partner teacher if an alternate setting is needed.
• Call the office if you need more help. If Ali is not available, Yancy or Angie will contact Mary Kate to help.
• If the situation requires the student to be removed and he/she will not go, you can relocate the rest of the class to an alternate location: library, commons, art room (Wed PM, Thurs or Fri)
• If you need staff to help supervise the student or the class during an episode please have Yancy call for one of our aides in the building who may be available
• Do not physically restrain a student if you are not trained.
• Staff who have been trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) are: Ali, Yancy, Steve, Mary Kate, Holly, Becky H., Glenda, and Julie.
